George Melly. Eccentric would seem to be the word best to describe George. He was a jazz & Blues singer, a writer and lecturer, film and TV critic for The Observer. He collected and lectured on art history with the emphasis on surrealism...

...He was a sartorial, debonair dresser with a wardrobe of blinding suits and ties...

...But also, surprisingly, a keen angler. So much so that he sold a couple of his surreal paintings and with the proceeds bought a half mile stretch of riverbank...
